Job Stress

You are not alone. Over the past twenty years, the number of people reporting that job stress affects them has increased by 400%.

According to a report on work stress by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health:

  • 40% of workers find their job very stressful or extremely stressful
  • 25% say their job is the number one stressor in their life
  • 26% of workers often feel burnt out or stressed out by their jobs

Further, stress at work can cause health problems, leading to illnesses such as back pain, fatigue, headaches, and even heart disease.

Job stress is something that must be taken seriously. What often happens is that stress accumulates from day to day – building up inside us, until something breaks. That’s when the person feels burnt out, has a nervous breakdown, or just snaps.
